Today is February 10. The day in which the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act comes into orbit. If you recall, this is the hastily written law that didn't take into considerations the thousands of small business, crafters, and artists when it created steep lead-testing standards.

I've gotten some fun movies of Ellis recently. These are taken roughly around eighteen moths post CI activation.

I spent several hours this afternoon cutting out fabric for handmade gifts. It's no secret around here that I love making things and value handmade things. So it is with great shock that I came across this information jeopardizing the local handmade toy industry in our country. (ht to kristen)

I don't do suspense very well. I have been so excited today, but I didn't know if I could make it through the evening watching TV, so I watched a little Gilmore Girls, then I changed back to the TV. Thirty seconds later, Obama got California and that put him over 270. This is so incredibly exciting!!!

HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!! Just the incredible HISTORY of it just makes me emotional!!!!!!!

I just voted! No lines. Yay!

I'm still feeling a little buzz from voting for who is, hopefully, the first African American President of our country. A rush of history! I forgot to be upset about not getting a sticker. (what is it with stingy pennsylvania? no stickers!?) I can't wait to watch the TV all night and feel excited!

In the meantime, though, Ellis has off school, and we're going to meet up with friends at the zoo on this gorgeous day!
