I hadn't intended to use this for today's DPP, but coming up dry in other respects. I just love this picture so much. I was addressing Christmas cards at the dining room table, and Ellis was just drawing. He made all these faces and told me that they were "happy," "sad," "angry." There's even some spare mouths at the bottom. He's into square people lately, hence the square heads. A recent family portrait had us all in rectangular body shapes. i love this!

Those faces are so much fun. Josh has been making lots of faces. During church he will study people and I will see him contorting his face to see what mad feels like then he will try to draw it. He'll just practice eyes or mouths, whatever. I don't remember my other boys doing anything like this but to me it is really funny and I love it!

Ellis has such an expressive first language, I would imagine emotion on faces is an especially big part of communication for him. And square heads: how cool! :-)
