December Photo Project #16

The weather has been wintry-mixing. Started off rain, then sleet, then big fluffy snowflakes. Now it's sleety rain again. Boo. We went over to my ILs for dinner, and Ellis enjoyed throwing "snowballs" at us with the little snow that had accumulated on our way to and from the car. Before we came home, I put the boys in their jammies, so that it would be an easy transition to bedtime. When we got home, Ellis got out of the car and proceeded to toss a little snow my way, and we all laughed. And then he bent down to make another snowball, and all of a sudden he realized that he could start rolling the snow, just like he'd seen on The Snowman. And he started rolling a little ball that got bigger and bigger. Then he began patting it firm and adding more snow. It was his first spontaneous snowman!!!!! I stood there and let him make his magical little snowman, jammies and all, for just a bit. I hated to bring him upstairs, but the Mom in me overruled along with the cold and the bedtime.
