Updates from the trenches
So we've kind of been in a slow lull in the potty training thing. He mostly gets the idea, he'll go at school. He'll occasionally even pull down his pants (thus negating the need to be naked). Sometimes we get lazy about constantly taking him, and just let him go in the Pull-up. I kind of feel like when he's really ready, he'll just do it, but along the way, I don't mind giving him little prompters, snippets of 'you know, this is how to do it, just in case you're ready.' Truthfully, I don't really want to potty train; it involves a level of mind presence that I'm fighting for lately.
Yesterday, he had off of school for Columbus Day, so I thought that I'd just put him in cotton trainers and see how we did, since I don't feel like he's quite ready to send to school that way. I took him lots, he even went a couple of times. We went to a friend's house to play. We to the arboretum. We went to Starbucks. Busy day. No accidents! Yay! I was feeling encouraged.
Until about 4 am, when I realized that with the nighttime pull-up and the relaxation of sleeping, anything that didn't make in the potty that day, exceeded the capacity of the pull-up far and away. True, he probably drank too much right before bed, too.
Anyway, dealing with much wetness at 4 am. And the baby had another very cry-y night.
